In The Loop – 10 Jan 2014
Adult and Community Learning ‘in the loop’
Issue 20 December 2013
Hello everyone and welcome to ‘in the loop’
This is a weekly bulletin to let you know about all the changes and actions that are being taken to save and strengthen our treasured Adult Learning Service.
Our mission:
We can say ‘hand on heart’ we believe adult learning in Bristol can continue to improve and grow and we are working really hard to make sure that happens!
Things we’ve done this week:
Happy New Year to you all and welcome to the first ‘in the loop’ of 2014.
The spring term enrolments are well underway and everyone in the team is bursting with new year energy! (or is that just me?) We launched the new website just before Christmas so if you haven’t had the chance to visit please go to www.bristolcourses.com and have a look.
This week I have had my first meetings with staff in the council’s marketing, press and design teams to start planning and preparing for production of the 2014/15 course guide and its launch during Adult Learners Week in June!
We are excited to report that we have been awarded £15,000 to progress our Community Learning Partnership. From next week, a UWE intern is joining our team to help us map all adult and community learning in Bristol and the West of England. They will also be helping us capture learner stories and to promote learning to a wider audience.
And finally another of our tutor facebook pages.
This week we are featuring St Paul’s Sculpture and Pottery Classes, Bristol here you can see lots of example of the pottery and sculpture made by learners in St Pauls. I particularly like Ann’s luscious leaf!
If you fancy joining in I’m told there are still a couple of places for the Pottery and Sculpture and Pottery courses starting next week – so you’ll have to get in quick!
- Pottery with Sculpture AC3016BSP Wednesday afternoons 1.00-3.30 pm
- Pottery AC3015BSP Thursday evenings 6.30 – 9.00 pm
