In The Loop – June 2017
I hope you are coping with and enjoying the (slightly cooler today) heatwave weather this week.
New course guide and September bookings
I know lots of you are desperate to get your hands on our 17/18 course guide and get booking for September courses.
As you can imagine the guide takes a while to put together and lots of proof reading! The information is currently with the council design team being spruced up and prepared for printing.
I am extremely grateful to Veronique and Marlis and all our tutors for all the work they have put in writing and collating all the course information. I also have to thank Maria and Louis in the office for painstakingly uploading all the course information to our booking system in preparation for release. I am really lucky to have such a supportive team around me all year round but particularly grateful for their efforts during these busy times.
We are expecting to sign off the final design in the first week of July and so are hoping printed copies will be arriving at Stoke Lodge around the middle of July.
As soon as copies arrive and the website booking goes live I will be sending out another ‘in the loop’ to let everyone know we are open for booking.
The course guide is jam packed with over 450 courses including lots of old favourites as well as some exciting new additions.
Thank you for your patience, the wait is nearly over!
Stoke Bishop Open Gardens
We are really pleased to be the venue for the Stoke Bishop Open Gardens café on Sunday 2 July.
You can enjoy an afternoon exploring some hidden local gardens around Stoke Bishop, follow the tree trail and visit the children’s playground.
The open gardens starts from 1pm with last entry to gardens at 5pm. You can come along to Stoke Lodge for a cup of tea. You’ll need to grab a passport which you can pick up on the day from Stoke Lodge or a participating garden (£5 per person for passport – children free) or you can get passports in advance from Aimee’s Wine House on Stoke Hill.
Building work at Stoke Lodge
Over the summer months we are having some essential repair work as well as some decorative work at Stoke Lodge. Some of this will start as soon as we break up in July. All the work is ensuring the ongoing maintenance and use of the building and to improve facilities for learning. If you do have cause to pop in over the summer please bear with us if work is underway we tend to make use of the summer break to give ourselves a little refresh and upgrade where we can!
I’ll be back in touch again when the courses are available to book.
