Now the rain has given the gardens and grass a much needed boost let’s hope we are in for a return of some summer sunshine. Planning for the autumn term is under way.  More details on September courses will be available later in August.

We have a few summer schools actually taking place at Stoke Lodge. We have lots in place to keep you safe and numbers have been limited to allow safe social distancing.

Courses include a Stained Glass Summer School with Ruth, a Painting Summer School – Variations on a Theme with Jenny.

We also have a Printmaking and Surface Design Summer School planned for St Pauls with Barbara.

Zoom for beginners – want to join an online course but unsure about how to use zoom?
I know it might seem like you should know about zoom already to do a course on zoom –  but you don’t  – Carmel will advise and walk you through the process she also has a great photo editing courses starting soon.

We have a second chance to join ‘The Consequences of the African Slave Trade on Women’ an online presentation looking at the story of Hannibal with Rosemary and also a look at An Alternative History of Westbury on Trym Workhouse

We miss the amazing displays of artwork from our talented and creative art learners!
Arts organiser Veronique and I have been working with our fantastic painting and drawing tutors to come up with a way we can still get to showcase art learners work so we can all enjoy their amazing creations.  Still a work in progress but we hope to be able to share it with you all soon.
BIG thanks to all the tutors for their support collecting and collating work and to all the learners for sharing their pictures with us.  Watch this space!

Lots of thanks

These last few months have been a strange and worrying time for all of us.
I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Stoke Lodge.

To all the amazing tutors who have been working their socks off to deliver online courses and share their coffee break classes.

And also to you, our learners.  The support and words of encouragement we have had from you have lifted our spirits, made us smile and brightened our days and weeks.  Thank you, you are all amazing!
