#StandWithUkraine
I am sure you are all watching the news and feeling sad and horrified at the terrible situation for the people of Ukraine. It is hard to comprehend what people there must be thinking and going through and our thoughts are with them and their families and friends across the world.
It is difficult to know what we can do to help and support but there are a number of charities currently raising funds for relief work and supplies including the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) you can find information on their appeal here Appeals | Disasters Emergency Committee (dec.org.uk) The UK Government will match public donations to DEC pound for pound up to £20 million.
If you choose to donate to other local charities who may be running appeals do ensure your donation is safe and goes to the right people by checking the charity’s name on the charity registration tool (which you can find on the .gov.uk website here Search the charity register – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) it is always sensible to make a few checks before parting with your money.

I hope you are all keeping well and look forward to seeing many of you at Stoke Lodge soon
