I have always been fascinated by history, society, and the stories that shape our understanding of where we come from. Growing up with a religious education, I was captivated by biblical tales but often found myself asking more questions than I received answers. This curiosity led me to pursue a BA in Social Anthropology and Ancient History at UCL, where I explored Biblical Aramaic, Egyptology, and the history of Persia and the Near East. My undergraduate dissertation focused on the historiography of biblical narratives, particularly Exodus, analysing historical accounts alongside scriptural texts.
I continued my studies with an MA in Ancient History at UCL, where my dissertation, The Jew at the Foreign Court, examined the Books of Ezra, Esther, and Nehemiah. Through this work, I explored how minority cultures used storytelling—whether rooted in history or fable—to assert their significance at the courts of great kings.
After university, I was fortunate to secure an internship at the BBC, where I worked with Dan Snow onHistory Hunters, contributed research for Who Do You Think You Are?, and developed ideas for historical documentaries. I later transitioned into the advertising industry, where I apply my passion for anthropology and storytelling in a commercial context.
Today, I combine my professional experience with my enduring love for social history, delving into the stories of outcasts, “others,” and lesser-known figures who have shaped our world. I’m particularly drawn to periods and events that reveal the timeless nature of human behaviour and society, and I’m thrilled to share these explorations
