Hallo, ich heiße Christel!

Having been born and bred in a rural area near Cologne, I have also lived and worked in Bonn, Stuttgart and Zürich, before settling in England.

I love teaching my mother tongue, German, to adults using lots of different activities and games to consolidate the learning.

On German Days I introduce areas of Germany and biographies and music of German classical composers.

In addition, I have led German book and film clubs since 2016. Last year I also offered a Zoom class about the German television detective series ‘Tatort’.

As I trained as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide in 2014, I have also offered themed walks in Bristol, Bath, Wells and Cheltenham in German, which I changed to an online format last year.
